Praise be to Allaah. Definition Zakaat al-Fitr is a kind of charity (sadaqah) that is obligatory at the time of breaking the fast of Ramadaan. The word zakaat is connected by idaafah (genitive structure in Arabic grammar) to fitr because the occasion of breaking the fast is the reason why this zakaat becomes obligatory. Reasons for zakaat al-fitr and what Islam says about it Ibn ?Abbaas said: ?The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) made zakaat al-fitr obligatory as a means of purifying the fasting person from idle talk and foul language, and to feed the poor. Whoever pays it before the prayer, it is an accepted zakaat, and whoever pays it after the prayer, it is just a kind of charity (sadaqah).? (Reported by Abu Dawood, 1371. Al-Nawawi said: Abu Dawood reported it from Ibn ?Abbaas with a hasan isnaad). ?Purifying? means purifying the soul of the one who has fasted Ramadaan. With regard to the word ?foul language?, Ibn al-Atheer said: ? ?Foul language? refers to obscene speech. ?Feeding [the poor]? refers to food that is edible. ?Whoever pays it before the prayer? means before Salaat al-?Eid. ?It is an accepted zakaat? ? here zakaat means sadaqat al-fitr. ?Just a kind of charity? means a kind of charity that could be given at any time.? 15-AUG-2011 04:00

You're with me 'Til the bitter end What we had transcends This experience Too painful to talk about So I'll hold it in 'Til my heart can mend And be brave enough to love again Oh, never too far away I won't let time erase One bit of yesterday 'Cause I have learned that Nobody can take your place Though we can never be I'll keep you close to me When I remember Glittering lights Incandescent eyes Still preserved in my mind In the mem'ries, I'll find solace Oh, never too far away I won't let time erase One bit of yesterday And I have learned that Nobody can take your place Though we can never be I'll keep you close to me And I'll remember A place in time Still belongs to us Stays preserved in my mind In the memories, there is solace Oh, never too far away I won't let time erase One bit of yesterday 'Cause I have learned that Nobody can take your place And, though we can never be I'll always think of you and me Always remember Love You're never too far 13-AUG-2011 12:02

How can the luminous moon greet the darkling night sky? How can the crashing waves beat against the rocky shore? Until my heart has oneness with your own, I cannot feel a part of this world until we meet! How can the morning dove call to the cooling East wind? How can majestic mountains reach high to the lofty heavens? Until my lips have union with yours of such beauty, I cannot be satisfied for your kiss that takes my breath! How can the parched earth open her mouth to the rainstorm? How can winter melt at the obedience of Spring's arrival? Until my longing arms have encircled your waiting chest, I cannot be fulfilled in my desire to hold you near! How can the newborn baby still suckle fervently on his mother's nurturing breast? How can time's hand still move in never-ending circles? Until my wanton temple has union with your Princely body, I cannot feel at one with the angel of my heart! You are the moon to my night! The waves against my shore! the dove to my East wind and the mountains to my sky! You are the rain to my thirst, the Spring to my winter 13-AUG-2011 09:25
